OHIO STATE PROFESSOR JOINS OHIO STEEL COUNCIL
COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 19, 1997) – Dr. Nicholas G. Hall, professor of management sciences and industrial and systems engineering at The Ohio State University, has been appointed by the Ohio Board of Regents to the Ohio Steel Council.
Hall teaches masters and undergraduate courses in management science and doctoral courses in advanced manufacturing topics. He earned his doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley. Since joining Ohio State in 1983, he has held visiting positions at the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University and Saitama University in Japan. Hall has co-authored almost 50 publications and has consulted with manufacturing companies and governments regarding large-scale manufacturing and operations planning and public policy decisions. He owns CDOR, a consulting business in Dublin, Ohio. The Ohio State University is a comprehensive research university with a main campus in Columbus and regional facilities in Lima, Mansfield, Marion and Newark. The Ohio Steel Council (formerly the Ohio Steel Commission) is a public-private partnership to strengthen ties among the steel industry, the state of Ohio and its citizens. The Council's member organizations are AK Steel Corp., Armco Inc., CSC Ltd., LTV Steel Co., Lukens Inc.
