Sales and marketing professionals are central to the steel producing industry. They must be sharp-minded, capable of assimilating large amounts of new information and presenting it to the customer. On the one hand, sales professionals must be experts on steel products; on the other, they must be first-rate communicators. Both qualities together make for strong customer relationships.
Sales professionals are responsible for servicing existing accounts and establishing new ones; making focused presentations; determining product pricing; assisting in inventory management; providing short- and long-term sales forecasts; devising sales strategies, and gathering current marketplace information. The job is vast and challenging. Opportunities for advancement are considerable. Travel is often required.
